The last USN VS squadron will be deactivated in January 2009. Partially to make way for new aircraft in the Navy's inventory, the last S3 Vikings will join their mates and thousands of other aircraft in the deserts of Arizona

 

 

There are now less than 100 of the original 288 P3's still in service, and
they are scheduled to be replaced by the P-8A somewhere around 2013

 

 

At that time there will be more S2's
still flying than the S3, P2, or P3
