      SIDNEY KING GRAHAM

Sidney King Graham, a resident of McKinney, Texas, departed this life on April 4, 2024, at the age of 86. King was born on January 19, 1938, in San Francisco, California, to Kenneth and Valentine (Sanders) Graham. He was a proud graduate of the Menlo School in Menlo Park, California, and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the California Maritime Academy.

King’s adventurous spirit led him to serve his country with honor and distinction in the United States Navy for five years. On November 17, 1983, he married the love of his life, Cathy Graham, at First United Methodist Church in Arlington, Texas, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together filled with cherished moments.

For over 30 years, King pursued his passion for flying as an airline pilot for American Airlines. The skies were his second home, and his dedication to his profession was unwavering. Beyond the cockpit, King found comfort and joy in the great outdoors, particularly on the water, where he enjoyed boating and fishing with loved ones and friends. King also loved cruising and other forms of travel around the world and often said he was busier in retirement than he ever was before.

Family was at the center of King’s world, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Whether comparing notes on the latest TV shows or sharing delicious meals, King's love and warmth filled every room. His zest for life was infectious, and his presence brought light and laughter to all who knew him.

King will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered fondly by those who knew and loved him.

King is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy Graham of McKinney, Texas; sons, Sidney King Graham, Jr. and wife, Charmaine of Seattle, Washington, Christopher Graham and wife, Kathleen of McKinney, Texas, and Scott Graham and wife, Mika of Allen, Texas; grandsons, Jeremy Graham of San Jose, California, Justin Graham and wife, Misa of Plano, Texas, John Graham of Allen, Texas, Kyle Graham of Allen, Texas, and Michael Graham of Seattle, Washington; granddaughter, Melissa Graham of Seattle, Washington; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Milton Graham.

A private party for family and friends to celebrate King’s life is planned for early June. As a proud veteran, King respectfully requests any donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.

We had King’s celebration of life service yesterday (06/15/2024) and I am sharing with you all what we had displayed. The flag case from VS-29 is beautiful and thank you all so much for the very nice gift in memory of him.

All my best,

Cathy
